Mr. Ehud Barak, Israel’s Defence Minister, recently visited Carmel Winery’s Zichron Ya’acov Wine Cellars.

He was there in the context of a lunch prepared for him by Bistro de Carmel, the restaurant that is situated at the winery. The restaurant, which is Mediterranean style, dairy and Kosher, overlooks the activities of the winery, including the arrival of grapes during the harvest.
The lunch was served in the winery’s 120 year old cellars, built by Baron Edmond de Rothschild in the 19th century.

The wines served were Carmel Ridge White 2009, Kayoumi Vineyard Shiraz 2006 and Sha’ al Vineyard Late Harvest Gewurztraminer 2007.

Nissim Ben Dahan, the manager of Zichron Ya’acov Wine Cellars, welcomed Mr. Barak, and presented him with the special and unique album produced by Carmel Winery in honor of their 120th harvest.
