>> Decanter Trophy for Kayoumi

Kayoumi Vineyard Shiraz 2006, one of Carmel’s Single Vineyard wines, has won The Regional Trophy at the prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards 2010. The Decanter Awards is arguably the leading competition in England, which is organized by Decanter Magazine.

This is the first time a trophy has been awarded to an Israeli wine in the last three years of this competition.

It is the also the only Trophy won by an Israeli wine in the three main competitions held in the United Kingdom: the International Wine & Spirits Competition, The International Wine Challenge and the Decanter Competition – all of which announced their results on the same day at the London Wine Trade Fair.

Kayoumi Shiraz is a single vineyard wine from the Kayoumi vineyard, in the foothills of Mount Meron in the Upper Galilee, 780 meters above sea level.

Israel Ivzan, Chairman & CEO of Carmel Winery commented: “This Trophy reflects great credit for Israeli wine, in one of the leading competitions in the world, held in the most competitive market in the world.”
