A new wine has been launched in Israel for the first time from the Nebbiolo grape variety: Gamla Nebbiolo. Nebbiolo is responsible for the wines of Barolo and Barbaresco from Piedmont in Italy. It is the third ‘Italian‘ variety to be cultivated in Israel after Sangiovese and Barbera.
Gamla Nebbiolo 2006 was made from grapes grown in the northern Golan Heights and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. It has been produced only in small quantities.
Gamla is the second label of the Golan Heights Winery, situated in Katzrin, which is Israel’s third largest winery. Gamla is a brand that has always associated with quality and value.
