Hugh Johnson's Pocket Wine Book 2011 has been published. This year there are 30 Israeli wineries listed - the most ever.

 

The best wineries this year are Domaine du Castel with four stars; Yatir Winery with three to four stars; Clos du Gat, Golan Heights Winery and Margalit Winery each with three stars. They are followed by: Carmel, Chateau Golan, Flam, Galil Mountain and Pelter.

 

The wineries that have advanced since last year are: Binyamina, Clos de Gat, Ella Valley, Galil Mountain, Pelter, and Tzora, which have each improved their grade from last year.

 

Newly listed are: Alexander, Avidan, Mony and Zion.

 

The Hugh Johnson's Pocket Wine Book 2011 is published by Mitchell Beazely, the wine publishing specialist, which is part of the Octopus Group. It is the largest selling wine book in the world. It costs GBP 9.89 or US$14.99 on Amazon.
